Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided: 3/4 cup for filling, 1/4 cup for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Honey or chocolate syrup for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish thoroughly with butter or non-stick cooking spray to ensure the bars are easy to remove later.
  2. Unroll one can of the crescent roll dough. Place it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, stretching it to cover the entire surface. Press the seams together firmly to create a solid base.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, 3/4 cup of sugar, and the vanilla extract together. Use an electric mixer for about 2 minutes until the mixture is smooth and completely free of lumps.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottom layer of dough. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and carefully place it on top of the cream cheese layer, stretching it to the edges and sealing the seams.
  5. Pour the melted butter evenly over the top layer of dough. In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar with the tablespoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture generously over the melted butter.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and slightly puffed. Remove from the oven and let the bars cool completely at room temperature before transferring them to the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to set properly before slicing.
